Description
This is a large, rare and wonderful tinnie for Gautag Ost-Hannover 193The tinnie shows a Vokswagen at the top, at the time called a KdF-Wagen: the KdF stood for Kraft durch Freude (strength through joy). Volkswagen at the time was a fledgling Nazi-based automobile company (est. 1937). The tinnie also shows a ship and a cromlech beneath. It reads GAUTAG OST-HANNOVER 1939.
VINTAGE:Circa 1939.
SIZE:Approximately 2-1/2" in height and 1-3/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Aluminum/white metal with painted areas, waxed felt backing.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal safety-style pin.
MARKINGS:None.
