ARTIFACT: This is a beautifully detailed and large Westerly, Rhode Island steam fire engine company No. 1 badge in coin silver. The badge reads R.I. ONES, the company's nickname, and has a great steam engine engraved at its center.

VINTAGE: Circa 1890s.

SIZE: Approximately 2-3/8" height and 1-13/16" width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Coin silver with painted detail, brass pin.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical kick pin with forked locking catch.

MARKINGS: S. M. SPE'NCER MFG. CO. 8 CORNHILL BOSTON, MASS. with mark.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a firefighting collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VBCGX11 LDIEX1/11 SBFGX2/15

CONDITION: 8+ (Excellent): The badge shows hardly any wear and a handsome tarnish only on the reverse.
