Korean War US Army 10th Mountain Div Shoulder Patch of Capt C S Bird III Silver Star Rcpt

This is a wonderful Korean War era shoulder patch for the United States Army 10th Mountain Division which belonged to Silver Star recipient Captain Charles Sumner Bird III, also of the 24th Infantry Division. A Boston native and Harvard graduate, Bird served in both World War II and the Korean War with distinction. This patch came to us directly from its original owner, who wore this patch upon his right shoulder World War II service while he was serving with the 24th in Korea. The one-piece patch has a MOUNTAIN tab integrated with the main patch and is Japanese-made. Approximately 3-1/8" in height and 2-1/16" in width.

Fully embroidered in cotton/silk thread, twill piece in between patch and tab.
