Description
This is a United States Army Expert Infantryman badge by Meyer from the Korean War era. Along with the Combat Infantryman 3rd Award badge, the Expert Infantryman badge was born from the recognition that infantryman were sure to die or suffer injury in disproportionate numbers compared to other enlisted men. The badge shows a rifle on a blue enameled background.
VINTAGE:Circa Korean War.
SIZE:Approximately 7/16" in height and 3" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Chrome-plated brass with enamel, brass catches.
ATTACHMENT:Two posts with clutch-back catches.
MARKINGS:N.S. MEYER INC. NEW YORK maker's mark.
