Interesting WWII History of the Canadian "Red Shield" (Salvation Army) with signatures of prominent members and two period black and white photos of a celebration that took place at an English Country Manor. The back of the book features expenditures, vehicle donations, and a: "LIST OF CERTIFICATES OF WAR SERVICE ISSUED TO SALVATION ARMY CANADIAN WAR SERVICES OVERSEAS AND CANADA PERSONNEL 1939 ??? 1947". The hardcover shows the Salvation Army symbol next to a maple leaf, inside displays a map of the Central Mediterranean: "REPRODUCED BY THE COURTESY DEPARTMENT OF NATIONAL DEFENCE, HISTORICAL SECTION", and the cover page reads: "RED SHIELD IN ACTION: Record of Canadian Salvation Army War Service in the Second Great War. By Scott Young" and the opposite page shows the signatures mentioned above.
