Description
This is a grouping of insignia and calling cards of Nazi Army General Ferdinand Pichler, including two calling cards, two breast eagles(one bevo tinsel, one bullion), a set of cap eagle and wreath insignia, a button and a copy of a German write-up about the General. During WWII Lieutenant and then Major General Pichler commanded the 417th Infantry (Landesschutzen) Division in Vienna, Austria Wehrkreis (Military District) XVII. Prior to this General Pichler was a commander of various brigades in the Austrian Army.
VINTAGE:Circa 1942.
SIZE:Bevo Eagle: 2-1/4" x 4-5/8", Bullion Eagle: 1-7/8" x 4", Calling Cards: 2-1/2" x 4-1/8" each, Cap Eagle: 1" x 2-1/2", Cap Wreath: 1-1/2" x 2-1/2", Button: 3/4" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Printed paper, gold anodized aluminum, gilt brass, silver-plated brass, metallic wire, wool, and rayon.
ATTACHMENT:Various: cloth items and button are to be sewn on, cap insignia has prongs in place for attachment. One pin is missing form cap eagle.
MARKINGS:A (for Assman maker) EXTRA FEIN on reverse of button; JFS (for Josef Feix Sohne maker) 40 on reverse back of cap eagle.

CONDITION:8 (Excellent-): Items are in various condition but overall are very nice and displayable with only very minor aging or very slight wear.
