This is a lovely circa 1930's or 1940's nursing graduation bar pin from St. Francis School of Nursing in Trenton, New Jersey.
St. Francis was an early nursing school, established in 1905 under the direction of Sister Hyachintha.
The bar bears the Lamp of Knowledge encircled by the initials S.F.S.N. The bar is gold-filled with cobalt blue enamel and was made by Murchison of Newark, New Jersey.
VINTAGE:
Circa 1930's - 1940's.
SIZE:Approximately 1-7/8" in length x 9/16" in height.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gold-filled, enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal pin with come-under locking catch.
MARKINGS:1/20 10K GF MURCHISON NEWARK.
