IDed! Circa 1910s Numbered International Concatenated Order of Hoo-Hoo Inc Member Lapel Pin by Stief

This is a circa 1910s numbered member lapel pin for the International Concatenated Order of Hoo-Hoo Inc. Formed in 1892 by some light-hearted businessmen involved in the forestry products industry, the group gave its CEO a title borrowed from the name of a fictional Lewis Carroll character: Snark. The pin is enameled in black and white and shows a black cat with its back arched. The pin was made by Stief Company of Philadelphia.

Circa 1910s.

Approximately 3/4" in diameter.

Gilt brass with enamel.

Single screw post with disc backing, stabilization teeth.

STIEF CO. 19174 on reverse of pin; 40 on backing.
