ARTIFACT:
This is a Personal Identification USAF (United States Air Force) Patch from Randolph Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. It was used as a personnel identification patch, sewn on personal clothing & gear. It is embroidered in blue thread on white (no yellowed deeply) twill and reads RAFB 1621 (the number appears to have been added by hand with a sewing machine, and was probably unique to the original owner). At center is the AFB's Building 100, nicknamed the "Taj Mahal".

SIZE:
Approximately 2-3/8" in diameter.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Twill embroidered in cotton/silk/polyester thread, mesh backing.
