ARTIFACT:
This is a Iconic WWII CBI Made USAAF Unofficial Radioman Wing. It is made in India, hence the UK style pin. Below is a link to the CNAC wing also referenced the other night, where you can see that the base wing is identical, and made by the same, currently unknown, company.
PLEASE NOTE: After many years of trying to gain access into one of the top 3 US Wing Collections in the country, we are pleased to announce that we finally are going to be listing pieces from this collection. A collection in the making of almost 30 years, there are many one-of-a-kind pieces in it that will be coming into the collecting market, as well as some of the "Best of Type" pieces. Many wonderful numismatic and biographical wings, uniforms, and groupings will be coming to market for the first time in years, some for the first time ever, over the coming months. This wing is one of those offerings.
The attached wing is the iconic, and most visually pleasing of this unofficial but worn wing. It also happens to sport a fantastic gunmetal blue/black patina, which I happen to love seeing on wings.
