Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a great World War II laboratory technician identification badge for MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology). Work in the lab took place from October 1940 through December 1945 under the umbrella of the National Defense Research Committee. The badge is in celluloid and pictures technician D. B. Johnson.

VINTAGE:

Circa World War II.

SIZE:

Approximately 2-1/16" in diameter.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Celluloid-wrapped tin.

ATTACHMENT:

Horizontal safety-style pin (pin broken off).

MARKINGS:

PILGRIM BADGE, CAMBRIDGE MASS. on side of badge.

CONDITION:

6+ (Fine-Very Fine): The badge has some small areas of light to moderate wear and slight buckling in one spot; pin is broken.
