ARTIFACT:
Great vintage 1920s Rockingham Hotel Portsmouth, New Hampshire room key and fob for room #1. The stamped, leather fob reads: ROCKINGHAM HOTEL PORTSMOUTH N.H. and above displays a hand-drawn number 1. The reverse is stamped with a makers mark that reads: JOHN ROBBINS MFG. CO. MANUFACTURERS 7 HAVERHILL ST. BOSTON, MASS. And below: IF CARRIED AWAY RETURN UNSEALED WE GUARANTEE POSTAGE. The fob is attached to a steel skeleton key.
