ARTIFACT: This is a great pre-World War I photograph of a pilot and passenger preparing to take off in a Curtiss seaplane. Glenn Curtiss was known as the American pioneer in the field of hydro-aviation, and is responsible for training the first US Naval Aviator. The photograph is matted and displayed in a nice old original period wooden frame.

VINTAGE: Circa pre-World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 9-1/8" by 7-1/8".

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Photograph, glass, wood, paper backing.

ATTACHMENT: Wire hanger.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The photograph has some light wear; some tears in the paper backing only; frame has spots of wear.
