This is a Great Old, Ca 1890s Augusta, Main Police Badge #8.  capital City of Maine.

Circa 1890's.

Approximately 2-3/4" x 2-1/8".

Nickel-plated brass with painted letters.

Vertical pin with tongue type "C" catch.
