Description
This is a great Korean War era United States Navy VF-191 (Fighter Squadron 191) "Satan's Kittens" baseball cap. VF-191 served aboard the USS Princeton (CV/CVA-37) from 1951 through 1952 and aboard the USS Oriskany (CVA-34) between 1953 and 195The squadron was largely comprised of the Navy's "Blue Angels" members. The cap is Japanese-made in red wool. It has a fully embroidered squadron patch on the front center showing a cat with a pitchfork about to hurl some lightning bolts. The back of the hat is embroidered with the original owner's first name: Stan.
VINTAGE:Circa Korean War (early 1950s).
SIZE:Size 7-3/8 (59 cm circumference).
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Wool with fully embroidered patch is cotton/silk thread, partial twill lining. vinyl liner.
