This is a great World War II era Figural Bank of a sailor. This is for the Seaman's Bank for Savings. It was made by Contemporary Ceramics out of Chatham, New Jersey, and has some wonderful paint. The bottom is lined with cork so it doesn't get scratched when it is set on a surface. This also has the original bottom plate, which is quite rare to find.
About 5-1/2" x 3-1/2" x 5-1/2"
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Painted Ceramic, aluminum, and cork.
"SBS. TURN. CONTEMPORARY CERAMICS CHATHAM N.J. THE SEAMEN'S BANK FOR SAVINGS"
This is from a Banking collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAEX15 LAGEX4/17
8+ (Excellent): The paint is in great shape, only slight cracking near the bottom.
GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
