Description
ARTIFACT:
Great, early MGM (late 1920's) Lion Logo lapel pin by Steiner Uniform Co. in New York. The pin features the lion's head in the center in lovely detail, surrounding it reads: "ARS GRATIA ARTIS" (Art for Art's Sake). The base of the pin features a clown or theater type mask. The reverse reads: "STEINER UNIFORM NEW YORK", "MADE IN ENGLAND". The lapel pin could of possibly been worn by ushers of the theater.
VINTAGE:
Circa late 1920's.
SIZE:
Approximately: 7/8" in height x 1" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:
Stamped lacquered brass.
ATTACHMENT:
Single screw post, stabilizer pin, and disc backing.
MARKINGS:
"STEINER UNIFORM NEW YORK", "MADE IN ENGLAND"
