Description
Great, circa 1952 United States Navy VF-193 "Ghost Riders" jacket patch. The fully embroidered patch is Japanese-made. Established in 1948, the Fighter Squadron 193 (VF-193) was assigned to Carrier Air Group Nineteen. During the Korean War, it made two deployments stationed aboard the aircraft carrier USS Princeton (CV-37) and flying Vought F4U-4 Corsairs. The diamond-like shaped patch shows 'death' or the grim reaper in red and white detail wielding a bloodied sword and riding a black and white stallion, set against a blue background with a white border.
