ARTIFACT: Great circa 1900 'Stock' Old West City Marshal badge. The hand-stamped, nickel badge is shield shaped and features an eagle perched atop with spread wings and a bowed head. The center of the badge displays the number: "1" and surrounding it reads: "CITY MARSHAL"
These badges came out of an old collection put together by a collector from Kansas, now deceased. As the bulk of his collection was Kansas and Colorado, it can be safely assumed that these badges were indeed worn in the Old West of their particular vintage, although I do not know exactly where any were used or collected.

VINTAGE: Circa 1900.

SIZE: Approximately 2-1/8" in height x 1-7/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Hand-stamped, nickel, brass saddle.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical safety style pin with 'C' catch.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a police and law enforcement collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAGEX15 LAAGEX12/15 STRVAJJJX11/08/22

CONDITION: 6+ (Fine - Very Fine): The badge shows moderate to heavy surface wear, some of the plating remains intact, great overall wear.
