ARTIFACT:
Great 1976 Indy 500 pit pass/badge on original issue card. The badge shows a can of Valvoline Motor Oil in the center beside a race car with the year "1976" above. The top of the badge reads: "INDIANAPOLIS MOTOR SPEEDWAY" and the bottom shows the number: "3365". Overall, the badge features nice, intricate detail. The original card shows moderate age/storage wear and reads: "INDIANAPOLIS MOTOR SPEEDWAY CORPORATION 60TH INTERNATIONAL 500-MILE SWEEPSTAKES MAY 30TH, 1976". Beneath the badge, the card reads: "GOOD ON RACE DAY WITH OFFICIAL BADGE" and the bottom shows a large number: "1" and reads: "NOT GOOD FOR GATE ADMISSION". The reverse of the badge shows three marks, the center mark is a Bastian Bros. maker's mark that reads: "BASTIAN BROS. CO. ROCHESTER, N.Y."
