Description
This is a great circa 1930s advertising sign for Clicquot Club brand ginger ale. The sign is in brightly painted, flexible tin and features the company's mascot, "Klee-Ko" the Eskimo, at its center. Founded in 1885 in Millis, Massachusetts, Clicquot Club was bought out by competitor Cott Beverage Company in 1960 (later absorbed by Canada Dry). The dear cost of the Clicquot Club's premium imported ingredients such as ginger and sugar led it to advertise aggressively: it even launched a radio show beginning in the 1920s called "The Clicquot Club Eskimos".
