ARTIFACT: This is a great 1930's - 1940's "VOTE INDUSTRIAL UNIONISM" celluloid badge promoting the CIO (Congress of Industrial Organizations) over the AFL as both union federations were in competition of members between the 1930's and 1956 during their merge. This pin would likely have been worn during union elections when AFL unions were seeking new members. The UAW organized everyone in the plant, thus its 'industrial union' structure.

VINTAGE: Circa 1930's - 1940's.

SIZE: Approximately 1-1/4" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Celluloid-wrapped tin.

ATTACHMENT: Straight pin.

MARKINGS: Union marks on front; BENJ. HARRIS CO. INC. NEW YORK N.Y on edge.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a Union / Labor Collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VEX12 LBHX11/12 SBHX12/20

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The pin shows some light wear; some oxidation on reverse only.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
