ARTIFACT: Great circa 1920's Sonoma County, California Prohibition era Deputy Sheriff badge by Edward Jones & Co. The reverse shows that the badge once belonged to Elmer Douglas Bills and was worn by him from 1919 – 1926, and he became Sheriff in 1927. The shield shaped badge reads: "DEPUTY SHERIFF SONOMA CO." in black detailed lettering. This nickel badge appears to have been chromed during the period of use.

VINTAGE: Circa 1920's

SIZE: Approximately 2-1/8" x 1-3/4"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Chromed nickel, black paint

ATTACHMENT: Vertical safety style pin with "C" type catch, saddle

MARKINGS: "Ed. JONES & CO."

ITEM NOTES: This is from a police and law enforcement collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. TVCEJX TRGEX16 LFGEX10/16 SFGEX5/17

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The badge shows moderate wear, chromed during period of use, much of the black painted and chrome plated details remain intact, overall very fine condition.
