ARTIFACT:
This is a Great Old 1920's Forrest County Mississippi Deputy Sheriff Badge.
Forrest County Mississippi was created from Perry County in 1908, and named in honor of Nathan Bedford Forrest, a Confederate general in the American Civil War and the first Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan KKK. Forrest County is part of the Hattiesburg, MS Metropolitan Statistical Area.
VINTAGE:
1920s.
SIZE:
Approximately 2-3/16" in height x 1-15/16" in width.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Nickel plated nickel with painted lettering.
ATTACHMENT:
Vertical kick type pin with forked locking catch.
