ARTIFACT: This is a Gorgeous 1930's Sterling Silver Imperial County California Air Squadron Deputy Sheriff 6 point Star Badge by Los Angeles Stamp & Stationery Co. with Control #38 stamped into the back. 

During the Golden Age of Aviation, many California Counties, and some Cities, added Small Craft Aero Squadrons to their ranks. Some stuck around, and many faded away, to be reborn in the 1970s as Helicopter Aviation units. 

VINTAGE: Circa 1930s.

SIZE: Approximately 2-5/8" in height x 2-1/4" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Sterling Silver with Hard Fired Blue enamel and gold wash.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical kick pin with forked locking catch.

MARKINGS: "LAS&SCO. STERLING 38"
