This is an Extremely Rare 1930's Silver Bear 6-point Star Los Angeles County California Deputy Sheriff Badge #185.
In our 35+ years of Collecting and Dealing in Badges, we have only owned 2 of this Extremely Rare Style of Los Angeles Deputy Badges. Period of use repair to forked catch.
VINTAGE:
1930s.
SIZE:Approximately 2-7/8" in height x 2-1/2" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gilt brass with hard fired blue enamel, and Silver Bear & Nickel findings.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical kick type pin with forked locking catch.
MARKINGS:N/A.

CONDITION:7 (Very Fine): The badge shows minor wear, and mostly gilt gold detail is washed off, even so there is still a little left. But silver bear and hard-fired blue enamel remains intact, overall, it is in very fine condition.
