ARTIFACT: This is a fantastic World War I era factory police badge for firearms manufacturer Smith & Wesson, Inc. Founded in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1852, the company had already established its dominant reputation in the world weapons market long before this badge was produced. The badge is numbered 7.

VINTAGE: Circa World War I.

SIZE: Approximately 2-15/16" in height and 1-3/4" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Nickel-plated steel, painted lettering.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical kick pin with forked locking catch.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The badge shows some light wear and minor oxidation on reverse only.
