ARTIFACT: This is a Fantastic circa 1912 Sheriff of Deer Lodge County, Montana badge in gilt brass by Detective Publishing Company of Chicago. The ball-tipped, star-shaped badge features ornate details and a center disc that reads: "BRUCE N. BRYAN SHERIFF DEER LODGE CO." Sheriff Bryan was elected to his office in 1912. He sadly died on September 21, 1915, drowning in an attempt to save his wife and others.

VINTAGE: Circa 1912.

SIZE: Approximately: 2-3/4" in height x 2-3/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gilt Brass with painted lettering.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical kick pin with tongue-type 'C' catch.

MARKINGS: "DETECTIVE PUBLISHING CO. CHICAGO"

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): Badge shows minor to moderate surface wear mostly on high points, nearly all the gilt details remain fully intact.
