This is a fabulous mid to late WWII USAAF Bombardier wing, hand made of heavy silver in China during the war. And the entire pin, hinge, and roller locking catch are hand made as well, as is typical for Chinese made wings.
The wing is a heavy casting that was later hand finished, reminiscent of a Walter Lampl design. The central disk appears to have been soldered onto the wing, and then the bomb on the disc was GLUED on (in the period, NOT a later repair) at a wonderful jaunty angle, really giving the wing some pizzaz! The light glue line does not detract, in fact it enhances the somewhat diminutive bomb. 0.87 oz / 24.8 grams
The only one of these that we've seen.
