ARTIFACT:
This is a Fabulous World War II 1945 German Made 1st Allied Airborne, ETO, 279th Station Hospital Cammo Parachute Silk Souvenir Scarf.
The 279th Station Hospital was a vital U.S. Army medical unit activated in 1943 that served the European Theater of Operations (ETO) during WWII. Operating under the First Airborne Army, the unit treated Allied casualties in Scotland and Normandy, and occupied a former SS hospital in Berlin.

Approximately 33-1/4" in length x 8-5/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:
Camouflage Parachute Silk and embroidered in silk thread.
ATTACHMENT:
To be worn around neck.
