ARTIFACT:
This is a fabulous 1960s United States Air Force colonel's uniform. The jacket has a sterling silver wing by Vanguard and ribbons from World War II through the Vietnam War, along with colonels' wings and collar insignia, and is accompanied by a pair of pants, two identical caps (an exterior photo of only one cap is shown, but both interiors are pictured) and a clip-on tie.
VINTAGE:
Circa 1960s (ribbons range from World War II through Vietnam War).
SIZE:
Jacket: size 42S; pants: waist-34", length-34"; caps (no size tags): approximately 11-1/2" in length and 5" in height; tie: approximately 17" in length and 2-9/16" in width.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Jacket: wool, silk lining, sterling silver wing, plated brass insignia and buttons, silk/cotton thread-wrapped cardboard bar; pants: wool, muslin-lined pockets and waistband, plated brass belt buckle, canvas belt, metal zipper, resin button; caps: wool with leather liners, silk lining & ribbons, tinsel piping, plated brass insignia; tie: with plastic clip.
ATTACHMENT:
Jacket: buttons (also on shoulders and pockets), small snaps inside top two pockets, clutch-back catches on most insignia and wing; pants: button at waist and on one back pocket, zipper, belt with buckle with loops; caps: none (insignia have clutch-back catches); tie: plastic clip.

CONDITION:
8 (Excellent-): The uniform is in wonderful condition, along with the accessories. One cap shows some moderate wear and light discoloration inside but otherwise is in great shape.
