NOT to be confused with the slightly larger Knight's Cross Award Document Cassette of similar look and construction, this is an extremely rare World War II Nazi Army (Wehrmacht) red leather cassette for a High General's (Generalleutnant & Generalmjor) promotion document. There is a fantastic gilt eagle on the front cover.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 13-3/4" in width by 18-1/4" in height (when folded).
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Leather, paper-lined, gilt paint details.
ATTACHMENT:Glued binding, cord inside spine (has come unattached at one end).
MARKINGS:FRIEDA THIERSCH (maker mark).

CONDITION:6+ (Fine-Very Fine): The cassette has some areas of abrasion, worn corners and the cord inside the spine has become unattached at one end because of damage to the spine. (please see photographs above).
