Description
This is an extremely rare World War I United States Coast Guard hat badge by Robbins Company of Attleboro, Massachusetts. The large badge is in sterling silver and the eagle sitting upon the horizontal anchor is in gilt sterling silver.
VINTAGE:Circa World War I.
SIZE:Approximately 2-1/2" in height and 2-13/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gilt sterling silver.
ATTACHMENT:Single screw post with disc backing, stabilization post (one is missing).
MARKINGS:Three marks, including Robbins maker mark; STERLING.

CONDITION:8 (Excellent-): The badge has hardly any wear; one stabilization post is missing.
