Beautiful, Issue, late WWI French Army Airship / Balloon Pilot Badge number B1171. 

Late WWI, ca 1918.

Approximately: 2-1/8" in width x 1-5/8" in height.

Gilt and silver-plated bronze.

Two lugs for suspension bar, not present.
