ARTIFACT: This is an extremely rare and possibly unique AVG-type Chinese blood chit handmade in leather. The China Air Task Force (CATF) replaced the 1st American Volunteer Group (aka "Flying Tigers") and was the precursor to the 14th Air Force. This chit is possibly from early on in the CATF period, but definitely the 1942 era. It is just wonderfully made, with separate pieces of red and blue making up the flag, with a great cut-out design for the sun.

VINTAGE: Circa 1942 or earlier.

SIZE: Approximately 10-7/16" in height and 8-1/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Leather, suede embroidered in cotton/silk threads.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a Chinese collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAEJX11 LBEJJX5/11 SBEJJX1/15

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The chit is in wonderful shape with some spots of minor discoloration near the bottom.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
