Description
Extremely rare early 1920's United States Army 2nd Cavalry distinctive insignia by J. R. Gaunt. The enameled brass DI is the early starburst style and features a white enamel trefoil in the center of a green enameled burst both centered within a brass starburst with a banner beneath that reads: "TOUJOURS PRET" (Always Ready). Established in 1836, the Second Cavalry is the oldest continuously serving regiment in the United States Army.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Enameled brass.
ATTACHMENT:Single screw post with disc backing two stabilizer pins.

CONDITION:8- (Very Fine—Excellent): DI shows minor to moderate wear, stabilizing pins are bent and minor crazing to white enamel, nearly all the enamel details remain fully intact.
