ARTIFACT: This is an extremely rare lapel badge for employees of Boston-Maine Airways. It shows a caped Pilgrim brandishing a musket straddling a Boeing DC-2 which was the airline's logo. This badge comes with some history as it was purchased at the estate sale of Basil Dixwell of Auburn, Maine who worked for Boston-Maine Airways as an agent the airline changed its name to NEA and then as a pilot for the Civilian Air Transport Command in WW2 and then a pilot for Northeast Airlines in the post-war years.

VINTAGE: Circa 1937.

SIZE: Approx. 13/16" in length by 11/16" in height.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Sterling silver with blue and red enameling.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin back with drop-in locking catch.

MARKINGS: ROBBINS CO ATTLEBORO MASS STERLING.

ITEM NOTES: This extremely rare badge is from a large collection of airline wings, badges, pins, and patches assembled over the last 15 years. CON-RLB-VCJX08/05 LFEDX3/10 SFEJX03/04/21

CONDITION: 9.5 (Excellent-Mint): The pin shows almost no wear but being silver is very dark with tarnish.
