This is an Extremely Rare 1920’s Pilot Wing & Hat Badge of the Aviation Division, New York City Police Department Reserves.

VINTAGE: 1920s.

SIZE: Approximately:

Pilot Wing:1-1/8" in height x 3-3/4" in width.

Hat Badge: 2-3/16” in height x 2-1/4” in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Pilot Wing: Embroidered Bullion and wire... There might also be tinsel and Silk on the center and Woven Wool Felt with cotton/silk thread. Nickel and brass findings.

Hat Badge: Embroidered Bullion and wire on Woven Wool Felt with cotton/silk thread with heavy Gauze backings.

ATTACHMENT:

Pilot Wing: Vertical pin with drop-in locking catch.

Hat Badge: Single screw post with disk backing with pins.
