ARTIFACT: Extremely rare 1909, pre-Prohibition Roseneck Brewing Co. Edelbrau advertising Mettlach mug. The front shows the brewery’s stamp, a star in the center of a circle that reads: “ROSENECK BREWING CO. RICHMOND, VA.” and in large hand-painted detail reads: “EDELBRAU UNEXCELLED IN THE BOTTLE”. The bottom has numerous markings: “METTLACH”, “MADE IN GERMANY”, “1909 V”, the mug is sold as it with rim and base chips (see photo).

VINTAGE: Circa 1909 SIZE: Approximately 4-1/4” x 2-3/4” (top diameter) x 3-1/4” (bottom diameter)

CONDITION: 5+ (Fine-): The mug shows moderate to heavy wear, overall crazing, chip to rim and base, nearly all the painted details remain intact.
