ARTIFACT: This is an extremely rare World War II USAAF 570th Bomb Squad, 390th Bomb Group, 8th Air Force jacket patch. This patch is silk screened on a vinylized canvas. It is likely that this patch was produced in the UK where the squadron was stationed. On the reverse of the patch is the name of a 571st Bomb Squad Pilot, Captain John W. Bone (of the sister squadron), who was Killed in Action on the 14th of January, 1945. The patch was removed from a flight jacket and was most likely was in a scrapbook at one point, due to three remnants of where it has been taped.

VINTAGE: Circa WWII

SIZE: Approximately 5-3/8" in diameter

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Silk screened on vinylized canvas.

ATTACHMENT: None

MARKINGS: "A.A.A.A. CAPT. JOHN W BONE"

ITEM NOTES: This is from a USAAF collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. CON-EIH-20-17 LAAHEX03/17 SAAHEX3/17

CONDITION: 8+ (Excellent): There is little wear on the patch, with tape residue at 2, 6, and 10:00 on the obverse.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
