Description
This extremely rare patch has been identified as the first design of the 1st Bomb Squadron, 1st Bomb Group, 1st Chinese-American Composite Wing (CACW), a joint national effort and was assigned to the 14th Air Force in China. The patch is fully embroidered in primary colors and shows a wing bearing a Chinese sun at the top and a bomb labeled "1" at the center. This patch came to us with a China Air Task Force (CATF) patch in bullion from the same era: please see the link at the bottom of this page for more information on that patch (sold separately).
VINTAGE:Circa early World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 2-5/8" in height and 2-5/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Fully embroidered in cotton/silk threads, muslin backing.
ATTACHMENT:Snaps to attach to uniform.
MARKINGS:None.
