The Royal Aeronautical Society began honoring outstanding achievers in the global aerospace in 1909. Since inception, honoring the world's aerospace achievers has become a permanent tradition of the Society as "the world's most prestigious and long-standing aerospace awards honoring achievement, innovation and excellence", the awards continue to be ground-breaking.
