Description
This is an Early - Mid 1950's OHIO Turnpike Commission High Ranking Coat & Hat Badge. Commissioner? With Period Post Card & Later Patch.
VINTAGE:Early - Mid 1950s.
SIZE:Coat Badge: 3" (2-15/16") in height x 1-7/8" in width. Hat Badge: 2-3/8" in height x 1-5/8" in width. Patch: 4" in diameter. Post Cards: 3-5/16" in height x 5-7/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Coat Badge: Gold-plated Nickel, Nickel-plated brass seal and painted lettering and gold-plated nickel findings. Hat Badge: Gold-plated nickel. Patch: Fully embroidered in silk/cotton threads, and covered with plastic sheet.
ATTACHMENT:One-plate pin with drop-in locking catch. Hat Badge: Single Screw Post with disk backing and pin.
MARKINGS:This is from a police and law enforcement collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. KGEV17 LAAGEX07/19/23
CONDITION:Coat Badge: 6+ (Fine—Very Fine): The badge shows minor to moderate wear to the highest-point, and patina. Overall, it is in fine condition.
