Early Lincoln, Indiana Detective Association "Horse Thief Detective" Type Badge

This is an early horse thief detective type badge for the Lincoln, Indiana Detective Association that is numbered 1 This association was known for its anti-black stance and KKK tendencies. The badge shows a scene at center of a person pursuing a buffalo.

Circa 1910s-1920s.

2-15/16" height and 2-1/4" width.

Nickel-plated brass with painted lettering.

Vertical safety-style pin with "C" catch and saddle.
