Description
This is an early 1960s United States Air Force Missileman Badge in a Scarce Mess Dress size. This badge was later called the Missilier Badge. In the late 1980's the badge was renamed the USAF Missile Maintenance Badge, Basic. Wearers of this badge had Cold War responsibilities regarding missile defense programs, etc. The badge is silver-filled and shows a missile poised for takeoff with four stars in the background.
VINTAGE:Circa 1960s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-3/4" in height and ½" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Silver-filled.
ATTACHMENT:Two posts with clutchbacks, rivet.
MARKINGS:SILVER FILLED KREW G-I.
