ARTIFACT: This is a 1920s photograph of three United States Air Service crewmen/balloonists wearing wings similar to the rare Air Ship Pilot wing by Link. A typewritten description attached to the reverse of the photo reads AMERICAN BALLOONISTS (Lt. M.F. Moyer, Lt. W.A. Gray and Major Norman W. Peck) TO COMPETE IN GORDON BENNETT CUP RACE, SAIL. There is also additional information listed.

VINTAGE: Circa early 1920s.

SIZE: 5-1/2" x 7-1/2".

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Black and white photograph.

MARKINGS: Stamped on back by FOTOGRAMS of NY and typewritten description attached.
