ARTIFACT:

This is an early (circa 1890s) United States Mail Rural Free Delivery hat badge from New Hampshire. The badge is in an open wreath formation of laurel leaves surrounding "RFD 3".

VINTAGE:

Circa 1890s.

SIZE:

2" height and 2-5/8" width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Silver-plated brass.

ATTACHMENT:

Horizontal pin with "C" catch.

CONDITION:

7+ (Very Fine+): Badge has an overall tarnish but it somehow adds to the depth of the leaf design.
