This is a 1943 "Victory in Tunisia" badge for the Desert Air Force, which was comprised mostly of Royal Air Force enlistees but also pilots from other Allied countries. The badge was made in North Africa and has an Art Deco flair to it. It shows the DAF's bull's-eye logo with stars and a crescent moon at bottom bearing the word TUNISIA.
VINTAGE:Circa 1943.
SIZE:2-1/16" height and 1-9/16" width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass with painted areas.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal British "Y" pin with "C" catch.

CONDITION:6 (Fine+): Badge shows somewhat heavy wear and tarnish and some of the painted areas are worn away.
