ARTIFACT:
Cool early 1960's United States Air Force 6091st Reconnaissance Squadron patch. This example is fully embroidered, Japanese-made during the Cold War. The 6091st was established after the Korean War and was formed from elements of the 91st Strategic Recon. Sq. The missions of the 6091st are still classified, but it is suspected that they engaged in covert reconnaissance throughout Europe. The center of the patch shows a knight riding a horse, above crossed lightning bolts and a nicely detailed eye. Along the top it reads: "6091ST" and the sides read: "RECONNAISSANCE SQUADRON".
