This is a circa 1970 pilot hat badge 3rd Issue for Zantop International Airlines (ZIA). In 1962 ZIA evolved out of Zantop Air Transport, which had originally been the Michigan-based Zantop Flying Service, started by four brothers in 194This badge has an ZIA at its center and dates to 1970: the next year ZIA became Universal, which flew for one decade.
VINTAGE:Circa 1970.
SIZE:Approximately 1-1/2" in height and 2-1/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Nickel-plated brass, painted area.
ATTACHMENT:Single screw post with disc backing.
MARKINGS:None.
